Thud after ground shaking thud, the Third Age has truly fulfilled every wish of an RTS-playing LOTR fan. The horror as a group of trolls smash through your defensive lines, the piercing shriek of a nearby Nazgul, or the terrifying moment when the Mahud horns sound out and you finally notice the Mumakil approaching. A few of Medieval II's AI quirks still remain - it's a symptom of the game the mod is built upon more than a flaw of the mod itself - but they're not troubling enough to overshadow just how fantastic it feels to experience those quintessential Lord of the Rings moments.
